Rapper Bow Wow‘s days at Cash Money are officially over thanks to the release of a new joint Jermaine Dupri song this week called “WYA (Where You At)?”
Bow Weezy’s track is the first single off an upcoming JD music project.
“WYA” was the result of a lot of time in the studio — but nobody said it was all work and no play. “When we’re working on party records, I’m telling Jermaine I’m packing the studio with like 30 people,” Bob Wow says of recording the tune. “We have a club in the studio.” (Billboard)

In the same interview, JD talked about how much it meant to reunite with his longtime protégé.
“Feels like I had him as my son, actually,” Jermaine Dupri says of his long-time protege Bow Wow. Dupri was one of the formerly “Lil” rapper’s first cosigns, producing his debut (at age 12) “The Stick Up” for 1999’s Wild Wild West soundtrack. After over a decade of ups and downs, the duo have reunited for “WYA (Where You At?),” the first single off of Dupri’s upcoming EP. (Billboard)
Bow Wow also promoted the new anthem on his social media pages this week.
Bow Weezy broke the big news of his Cash Money exit earlier this month.

Bow Wow also released a video to explain the motivation behind his decision.
“First and foremost, let me say this, I got so much love and respect for Birdman,” Bow Wow said in the clip. “This is the man who took the risk on signing me, not only that, but a person who opened up his space to me. We had so many ill conversations that I take to heart – what this is is me waking up, looking at myself in the mirror and just analyzing myself and asking, ‘What is is that you want out of your career?’ I got everything in pocket. I’ve got so much music that needs to be heard and wants to be heard – I think it’s unfair. I’ve been quiet now for four years, I wouldn’t say nothing, I wanted to make sure the time was right – I felt I had to part ways.” (Paper Chaser Dot Com)
It must be hard wanting to do music knowing no one really cares enough about it for you to get a release date
