Rae Sremmurd‘s Swae Lee isn’t holding back on his group’s highly-anticipated SremmLife 3 album. The hip-hop star has made things personal by naming a song after his ex-girlfriend.
In a new interview, Lee talks about the motivation behind getting his former flame a little album spotlight.
There’s another song on Swae’s disc called “Little Marliesia,” but he says, “I might need to change that title because she’s controversial now.” Just the other day, it turns out, Marliesia took to social media accusing Swae of infidelity. “People think I cheated on her with Blac Chyna,” Swae explains. “Did you?” Marliesia asks. He is silent for about five seconds before answering, “I’m not a cheater.” She leans over to him and murmurs something about how he’d better not change the song title. (Rolling Stone)
Swae also dishes on what fans could expect from the upcoming Rae Sremmurd studio album.
The album’s release date has been pushed back a few times – thanks to tinkering, the brothers say, and to their label’s sense of ideal timing. Jxmmi says he’s impatient, though: “I can’t sleep at night.” Swae turns to me. “When it come out, it’s gonna change the world,” he says. “I’m about to make a major statement. I’m about to take a massive sh*t. Everyone’s gonna hear this album and know that real rock stars lived on the Earth at the same time they did.” (Rolling Stone)
Last week, Swae addressed rumors about possibly cheating on his girlfriend with vixen Blac Chyna.
“That was a big miscommunication. I’m not no lame, you know what I’m saying and of course girls wanna [f*ck], be cool, yeah. I’m young and gonna take part in it. Certain girls might be my focus and I’m gonna filter through who’s real and groupie and thottie life and I’m gonna filter through that. But the girl gotta understand my life for it even to work. She gotta understand, ‘D*mn, he this person cause society made him this person. So I gotta be understanding. It’s gonna come with all these extra things.’ It’s gonna come with extra stuff – it’s gonna pay off. A few weeks ago, Swae’s girlfriend Marliesia Ortiz ripped Chyna for allegedly getting sexual with him.
