Dishing on her close-knit bond to everyone in Young Money, Shanell noted what makes the crew standout from other music labels.

“We’re a family. We all represent Young Money wherever we go. Unlike a lot of other labels that sign artists and they have their crew, those people aren’t really friends with each other, they really don’t know each other,” Shanell told SOHH writer Nikita Rathod. “We know each other. We might bicker with each at times, but that’s how a family is and we don’t let that out into the world, whereas other labels get out there and start talking about their label mates. We keep it tight and well knit, and that’s what makes us standout, and has kept us going so long.” (SOHH)

SnL also talked about how much of a role Weezy F. Baby played on the new LP.

“He’s playing more of the boss role. But he kind of gave us a lot of more room to shine, and people are a lot more familiar with us now than when they were with the first Young Money album. He’s still doing his thing. He’s the type of label president, making sure we all do our thing. He still represents on the album, but said, ‘Do your thing’.” (SOHH)
