According to reports, Keef’s latest crime is connected to trespassing.

Rapper Keith Cozart, better known as Chief Keef, was arrested blocks from the Skokie Courthouse only minutes after he pleaded guilty to speeding 110 mph on the Edens Expressway last month. Cozart was blocks from the courthouse when he was arrested by Chicago police officers, officials said. Leah Starkman, Cozart’s lawyer, said he was arrested after his court hearing on a misdemeanor trespassing charge. Starkman didn’t know the details of the arrest, but said he was in custody at the Grand Crossing District station, 7040 S. Cottage Grove Ave., on Chicago’s South Side. (Chicago Tribune)

Prior to the arrest, Chief avoided time behind bars but received ample punishment for his speeding incident.

“You think you’re invincible, and you’re certainly not,” said Cook County Circuit Court Judge Earl Hoffenberg. “Violate (conditions of the plea agreement) and you’ll find out you’re not. … I sure hope I don’t see you again, because if I do you better be ready to go to jail.” Under sentencing guidelines for the Class A misdemeanor, Cozart could have been sentenced to a year in prison and fined up to $2,500. But the judge fined him $531, put him on probation for 18 months, ordered him perform 60 hours community service, and undergo random drug testing. He must also complete eight hours of traffic school. Dressed in a black T-shirt, plaid shorts, sneakers, and wearing a gold chain, Cozart made no comment in court. (Chicago Tribune)

The teenage rapper earned some bad press when was arrested outside of Chicago for speeding last month.

17-year-old Chief Keef was caught ON TAPE shattering the speed limit in Illinois this week — allegedly doing 110mph in a 55mph zone — and TMZ has dash cam footage of the subsequent police chase … and arrest. The video starts out pretty tame — until out of nowhere, Keef barrels past the idling police cruiser in his BMW X6 M … and the cops peel out after him. It takes roughly two minutes for officers to catch up to Keef and pull him over. As we reported, Keef was eventually arrested for speeding and having too many people in his car (he only has a driving permit). The arrest is also on tape. But the best part — wait ’til you hear the arresting officer’s voice when he finds out Keef’s got $8,000 CASH in his pocket … (TMZ)

Recently, 1017 Brick Squad leader Gucci Mane said he hoped artists like Keef would learn from the mistakes he has made.

“I take responsibility for some of that bad stigma that comes from me. A lot of the things I have done, I regret. And a lot of it [I warranted]. A lot of it, it be false claims,” Gucci revealed. “Media take it and make they own assumptions…A lot of things don’t have a lot of truth in them…My advice would be to him [Chief Keef], and any other young guy, is to learn from…try not to do the same thing that I did.” (Power 107.5)
