Atlanta rapper Young Thug a.k.a. Sex is on the verge of breaking a promise to not release new music this year.
Thugger went to Instagram Live this weekend to reveal his next single’s on deck and will feature elusive hip-hop star Nicki Minaj.
“When I log back on I’ll be previewing my new single featuring Nicki [Minaj].”

Earlier this month, rap veteran Foxy Brown updated fans on Nicki’s well-being.

Recently, Cash Money boss Birdman blamed Nicki’s publicized social media absence on her gearing up new music.
“Nicki’s been working. That’s all I can say. She’s been working and she’s focused. I always say she’s the best ever, best female ever in hip-hop, hands down, facts. There’s no getting around it. I just think she’s focusing on her new project. … There’s levels to this sh*t. Very much levels to this sh*t. She’s an elite. Sometimes, you can put Nicki in a room with males on a rap, but if you put her on females, it’s nothing. She’s a monster in her own race. She’s just a special talent. Last month, reports surfaced about Minaj possibly falling back on the spotlight to focus on new tunes.
Sources close to Nicki tell us … she decided to ditch social media at the end of 2017 to fully focus on her music, which is why she’s had no new posts since December 30. We’re told she feels way more creative without the distractions of Instagram and Twitter. Our sources say Minaj has been working night and day in the studio with major producers and rappers like Lil Wayne, Mack Maine and other Young Money acts … and she’s going to continue to leave social media alone until the album’s complete.
