Scooter credited their close-knit relationship and interest in hitting recording studios for the song coming together.

“Yeah, that record’s hard,” Scooter told SOHH when asked about their collabo. “It came about really from being in the studio and working. Like, when we were out, we used to be in the studio like every day. We got a lot of songs, he just chose to put that one out. I can’t even remember who produced the track, I think it might be Zaytoven. More than likely it is. We did the track this year. We typically do records in Atlanta or Miami.” (SOHH)

After buzz about its release surfaced online a few weeks ago, Gucci’s album stayed on track with a Christmas Day premiere this week.

Gucci Mane releases his new album The State vs. Radric Davis II: The Caged Bird Sings just in time for Christmas. The project includes features from Migos, Rocko, Young Scooter, and Young Thug among others. It’s been four years since Gucci released The State vs. Radric Davis in 2009, but the veteran rapper has clearly kept in touch with his past producers as Zaytoven, Drumma Boy, and Shawty Redd all make their mark on the second album in the series. Other contributions are made by Mike WiLL Made It, Honorable C.N.O.T.E., as well as Atlanta-based production group 808 Mafia, who offer five beats on Gucci’s latest project. Mane’s album announcement came a day after he was indicted on felony charges.

Rapper Gucci Mane was charged in federal court Tuesday with two counts of possessing a firearm as a felon after two September incidents during which he showed a gun and threatened police, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia. Reports at the time indicated that the “Lemonade” rhymer was arrested in Atlanta on September 14 after a friend flagged down police to say he was concerned about the rapper’s behavior. (CNN)
