While most rappers try to mimic the “Atlanta Style” of rap, Young Jay is all about embracing his “Gullah Geechee” culture and dialect. Jay says: “I really rap for real, I’m speaking for the dirt road, I want to be the voice of the low country and my goal is to bring real rap back to the forefront!” This attitude along with his life, his surroundings and the people who are closest to him is what his music/sound is about.

Jay is really about putting on for his city and being the voice of the low country. All he wants to do is win and put his people in positions to win. This way if everyone in his immediate circle are millionaires then they wouldn’t have to resort to street life to make money. Young Jay wants to give his city hope and use his newly found platform to lead the youth of Geechee town in the right direction. Jay looks to carry out this as he releases his 1st project “Geechie Gospel” and use the pen to spread his gospel to his congregation, the hip-hop nation.

Who is Young Jay? He’s the voice of the low country, Gullah Geechee rhyme spitting representative who is poised to baptize the industry with his “Geechee Gospel”. Are you ready for his sermon?
