Despite being associated with Dre during his days as a G-Unit member, Buck said he has not gotten in touch with him for over three years.

“Dr. Dre is an individual who I wish I heard from at some point in time because his voice in my situation would means a lot. He don’t have to on my side or [50 Cent’s] side, but just say something, bro. I even told Game to say ‘what’s up’ to Dre for me, but I haven’t heard anything..I haven’t received an email or spoken to Dre in three years…I haven’t heard from Dr. Dre or Eminem… not to say my situation is any part of their business but at a point in time I was sitting in front of these dudes. And I’m not looking for them to take sides or anything, but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what is being done to me from their artist.” (VIBE)

In November 2004, Buck made headlines after being issued an arrest warrant for defending Dre at the VIBE Awards ceremony.

The Santa Monica Police Department issued a warrant for the arrest of G-Unit rapper Young Buck on Tuesday (November 16) in connection with the melee at Monday’s Vibe Awards. After reviewing a videotape of the fight, investigators believe Buck (born David Darnell Brown) stabbed 26-year-old Los Angeles native Jimmy James Johnson after Johnson assaulted Dr. Dre during the ceremony at the Santa Monica Municipal Airport hangar. However, in 2005, Buck pleaded no contest to the charges and avoided jail time.

David Darnell Brown, 24, better known as G-Unit’s Young Buck, pleaded guilty in Los Angeles to assault with a chance to produce bodily injury and in exchange, the charge of assault with a deadly weapon was dropped. He was sentenced to three years probation and 80 hours of community service work. (Access My Library)

In 2008, Buck was kicked out of the Unit, which ultimately led to severed relationships with 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo and other affiliates.

“You can look at it and see that’s Game all the way. I was giving him a chance, giving him the benefit of the doubt [to remain with the group]. You can take this as an official notice right here – pretty much you can say: Young Buck is no longer in the group G-Unit, but signed to G-Unit as a solo artist,” 50 said in an interview with radio host Miss Jones, revealing Buck’s disassociation.
