Fox’s “Empire” series continues to reign supreme amongst its competition after attracting over 16 million viewers for its season two opener this week.
According to reports, 16.2 million loyal viewers and potentially new ones came together to watch the highly-anticipated premiere Wednesday (September 23) night.
“Empire” was a breakaway hit in its first season, with improbable week-to-week viewership growth over the course of 10 weeks, leading into a season finale, broadcast in May, that attracted 16.7 million viewers. The premiere on Wednesday technically snapped that growth streak in ratings. The numbers should rise even more after delayed viewing totals are included in the coming days. (New York Times)
G-Unit boss 50 Cent released an Instagram response toward “Empire” after being name-checked in its season two premiere.
During Wednesday (September 23) night’s premiere, “Empire” referenced Fif’s notorious Instagram disses within its storyline.
Fif playfully taunted the hit Fox show via Instagram last month.
empire is on local channel. free to watch. while power is a premium channel. u gotta have that cable before you can watch power. so of course there will be more viewers on loal channel than premium channel.
Exactly even though I think both these shows are terrible
