Prosecutors in Melly’s Case Are Going For The Jugular

On February 8th, the State of Florida’s prosecutor’s office took significant steps to tie rapper YNW Melly to the Bloods gang, taking photos of YNW MELLY’s body tattoos.

The Florida rapper, whose real name is Jamell Demons, was charged in the October 2018 murder of his friends and associates, YNW Juvy (Chris Thomas, 20) and YNW Sakchaser (Anthony Williams, 21).

As revealed in a “Motion To Take Photographs Of The Defendant” obtained by SOHH, prosecutors in the case against YNW Melly motioned to take photographs of his tattoos on his arms, face, and chest in hopes of proving alleged gang affiliations.

The Defendant, Jamell Demons, is alleged to have committed a homicide when he shot two victims on October 26th, 2018 in a vehicle.  Jamell Demons has multiple tattoos on his person.  The photos are NOT for the purpose of having the Defendant pose for a reenactment.  The photos are to document the gang affiliated tattoos of Mr. Demon.  This is relevant as the State has previously identified the aggravator for seeking the death penalty as the crime was committed by a criminal gang member ad identified by Florida Statute 874.03.

The state is seeking the death penalty in this case.

The State of Florida intends to seek the death penalty against defendant, Jamell Demons, and hereby gives written notice of the same in compliance with Florida Statute 782.04(1)(b) and Rule 3.202(a), F.R.Cr.P.

Melly has been awaiting trial since he was arrested in February 2019 and charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

YNW Melly and Kodak Black New Music

While in jail, Florida rap stars Kodak Black and YNW Melly dropped a collabo in 2021, but fans were the only ones excited about it. KB took to social media to voice his frustrations with the track, only to be calmed down by Melly.
