“F*ck Donald Trump” hitmaker YG has reacted to news about Donald Trump supporters being attacked Thursday (June 2) in California.
On Twitter last night (June 2), YG connected the headline-generating incident to his upcoming Still Brazy album.
Coincidentally, the protesters chanted “F*ck Donald Trump” at the San Jose rally.
Protesters and supporters of Donald Trump clashed in the streets of San Jose, California, Thursday night after the presumptive GOP nominee held a rally. Protesters waved Mexican flags and one could be seen burning an American flag, with another burning Trump’s “Make America Great Hat.” Some chanted “F— Donald Trump” and “Donald Trump has got to go” outside the San Jose Convention Center, where Trump held his rally. In April, YG talked about police shutting down his “F*ck Donald Trump” music video production.
“We speaking for a lot of people who are not really speaking up or they got nobody in no situation that’s really gonna put it all on the line for they race [and] they culture,” he says. “We feel a similar way everybody else feels. We just took it on the chest. Like, ‘Look, This is what we about to do. We gonna speak on it.’ F*ck whatever consequences and all of that. We gonna deal with it.” (Complex)
Earlier this year, YG and fellow rapper Nipsey Hussle caught heat from police during their music video shoot.
The music video was for their song, “F**k Donald Trump” — so that explains the chants — but LAPD clearly thought things were getting out of control. Witnesses tell us about 100 people fell in behind the rappers while they shot the video Sunday in South L.A. Cops responded in riot gear … and quickly shut down the shoot. Law enforcement sources tell us the officers were responding to a call for cars cruising the streets and the crowd that had gathered to watch. We’re told LAPD had no idea it was a music video shoot.
