West Coast rapper YG is done relying on boring and traditional ways of making announcements. The hip-hop star has hit up social media to show off the rollout of his next solo album.
YG went to Instagram this week to reveal a huge billboard bearing his new LP Stay Dangerous‘ title.
The Los Angeles native also used an NBA All-Star Weekend event to quietly reveal the album’s existence.
This past Saturday on February 17th, YG announced that his next studio album titled “Stay Dangerous” is on the way! The announcement came right before closing his headlining set at his star-studded NBA All Star event “The Boogie,” leaving YG fans in a frenzy over the surprise announcement. The album is a highly anticipated follow-up from his latest project “Red Friday” as well as his most recent release last week titled “Suu Whoop.” All-Star Weekend in LA proved perfect timing for YG’s announcement as his all-day event included a star-studded 3 on 3 basketball tournament, outdoor festivities, and night concert that included various celebrities like YG, SYD, Famous Dex, DJ Carisma, Teyana Taylor, Lil Pump, YFN Lucci and more! Over the holiday break, Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz used a blimp to announce his new LP in Los Angeles.
With the height of racial tensions across America I felt I should do my part in explaining some of the brain washing formulas used in my community , this album not only touches on those who did succeed thru entertainment but those who didn't ! Welcome to Rap or Go TO THE LEAGUE ! My 5th solo studio album and project that shows continued growth , success , and motivation which is playing a role in the shift of the trap paradigm ✌🏿⛓ #ROGTTL @airsignusa
According to some reports, Chainz spent the NBA All-Star Weekend having his album title-revealing blimp circle around Los Angeles.
The always-inventive marketer launched a blimp that circled the Los Angeles sky for hours, emblazoned with the words RAP OR GO TO THE LEAGUE— which served as the official announcement as the title of his forthcoming album. Chainz’ memorable album title unveiling came hot on the heels of last week’s release of his surprise new four-song EP, The Play Don’t Care Who Makes It. In keeping with the air of mystery around the new project, no street date has been announced. (HITS Daily Double)
