Written By Amaar Burton

YFN Lucci has rejected a plea deal offered by Georgia prosecutors in his ongoing racketeering case. The Fulton County District Attorney recommended a 20-year sentence, with 17 years to be served in prison, but Lucci's attorneys have deemed the offer "absurd" and have criticized the handling of the case.

Plea Offer Rejected

YFN Lucci, real name is Rayshawn Bennett, has declined the plea offer presented by prosecutors in his racketeering case. The offer, which included pleading guilty to multiple charges such as felony murder, racketeering, aggravated assault, and violation of the street gang terrorism and prevention act, was deemed unacceptable by Lucci and his legal team.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis recommended a 20-year sentence, with 17 years to be served in prison. This recommendation came as part of the plea deal offer, but Lucci’s attorneys have strongly criticized the severity of the proposed sentence.

Lengthy Legal Process + Background Of The Case

Lucci has been awaiting trial for 2 1/2 years while in custody, and his attorneys have accused the district attorney of deliberately prolonging the process. They highlight the extended duration of Lucci’s incarceration and criticize Willis for focusing on newer, high-profile cases that they claim have monopolized the court’s resources.

The “Documentary” rapper was taken into custody at Fulton County Jail in Atlanta on murder and racketeering charges. He was accused of being the driver in a drive-by shooting in December 2020, which resulted in the death of James Adams, who was struck in the head during the exchange of gunfire.

If YFN Lucci chooses to proceed to trial and loses, he could face a longer prison sentence than the one offered in the plea deal.

YFN vs. YSL

In other related news, tensions between Young Thug’s YSL and Lucci’s YFN crews escalated inside Fulton County Jail in April 2023. Reports indicated that a member of YFN allegedly assaulted and restrained a member of YSL.

In addition, months after taking a plea deal that got him released from prison, Young Thug’s brother, known as “UNFOONK,” was recently sentenced to nine years for breaking his probation violation in May 2023.

YFN Lucci Is Back Behind Bars On More Serious Charges

Atlanta rapper YFN Lucci is in even more trouble. Already facing a murder charge for which he was out on bond awaiting trial, the platinum-selling artist recently turned himself in on separate charges of racketeering.

“Everyday We Lit” hitmaker YFN Lucci was named in a massive indictment as one of a dozen gang-related suspects facing a long list of racketeering charges. Lucci’s lawyer says this case and the murder charges his client is facing will not hold up.

Findling said that the murder charge against Bennett, which has since been rolled into the racketeering case against him, will not stick in court. According to Findling, the incident happened when someone shot at Bennett’s car as he was driving with friends. Someone in the back seat defensively returned fire, and in the ensuing exchange of shots, a passenger in the car was killed, Findling said. Because Bennett was the driver, he was charged with felony murder. (Atlanta Journal-Constitution)

YFN Lucci Released W/ Big Restrictions

Lucci was (kind of) free after posting a $500,000 bond back in January. The terms of his release included wearing an ankle monitor, surrendering his passport, and keeping a 7 p.m. curfew. Lucci basically couldn’t leave the house to see anyone except his lawyers and his kids, and couldn’t post on social media.

“The bond was negotiated last week and finalized today. He was released just before 4 pm. There are a variety of conditions which is somewhat consistent with these cases, which included surrendering his passport.” (Drew Findling, Lucci’s lawyer)

YFN Lucci Denied Bond On First Try

Lucci reportedly requested bond so he could be available to support his mother and his four children. In his initial request — which was rejected — the rapper claimed he isn’t a threat to anybody and isn’t at risk of fleeing.

YFN Lucci‘s hoping to get out of lockup to take care of his kids and his mom … even though he’s facing some serious charges for his alleged role in a homicide. According to new legal docs, obtained by TMZ … the rapper’s asking the judge to set a reasonable bond because he has “four underaged children whom he financially supports.” YFN also claims to provide a home and money for his mother living in Fulton County, GA.
