XXL Editor In Chief Vanessa Satten has come forward to speak out on hip-hop newcomer Post Malone not making their annual Freshman Class list.

Satten went to Instagram Thursday (June 16) and penned an open note to Malone about the perceived snub.

Malone initially spoke out on why he did not land on the cover and blamed it on his disinterest in traveling for the photo shoot.

This week, West Coast rapper Lil B applauded this year’s line-up.
