WWE diehards and former WWE celebrity Bruce “Brother Love” Prichard think they’re responsible for handing Diddy a huge L. The wrestling world has come forward with their reactions to Puff Daddy falling back from changing his moniker to Brother Love.

After Puff Daddy released a video last night saying he only joked about the name change, Prichard and social media pulled through with reactions.

Last night, Puff Daddy stepped up and cleared up the confusion behind his “Brother Love” moniker.

“Hello, is it me you’re looking for? Well ladies and gentleman, today I have come to the conclusion that you cannot play around with the Internet. Um, due to an overwhelming response from the media out there and due to not wanting there to be any confusion, I was only joking. I didn’t change my name. It’s just part of one of my alter egos and one of my alter egos is love. But to set the record straight because I have a lot of press to do over the next few weeks, you can address me by any of my other names but if you still want to call me Love, you can call me Love. But I was only playing.”

The WWE personality Brother Love is most known for his 1980’s and 1990’s contributions.

For those unfamiliar with Prichard, Wrestling Inc. says he was a pro-wrestling aficionado who was everywhere during the late-’80s and early-’90s, including hosting his own weekly show, “The Brother Love Show.” Later, he managed the wrestler star known to fans as The Undertaker. The Brother Love character is described by Wrestling Inc as “a disingenuous preacher who claimed to spread the message of love. The bizarre red-faced character was inspired by controversial televangelists of the time.” Prichard says the character was modeled in part after Jim Bakker, who once ran a Christian network and theme park based in Fort Mill, just south of Charlotte. A few days ago, Puff shocked fans by announcing an unexpected rap alias change.

“I have some very serious, serious, serious news. I’ve been praying on this and I decided – I know it was risky because it could come off as corny to some people like, ‘Yo.’ I decided to change my name again. I’m just not who I am before. I’m something different. So my new name is Love a.k.a. Brother Love. I will not be answering to Puffy, Diddy, Puff Daddy or any of my other monikers but Love or Brother Love. Okay? It’s my birthday. I feel good. God is the greatest. I give all the glory and I thank my mommy and daddy.”
