I love Washington, DC. I’m there more than I’m home. I go to a lot of DC clubs and shows and get just as much love there as I do where I’m from. I can’t front, they’re trendsetters.
A lot of people in Maryland and Virginia go off of how people in DC dress. But musically? Not at all. It’s here, 757. You got Fat Trel and Wale and King Los, but outside of them, there haven’t been any new rappers.
A lot of people you think of are artists from Virginia like Pusha T and Teddy Riley that have been in the game for over ten years. They originated from here.
Fashion and music go hand-in-hand, and a lot of that goes to DC. It’s like “DC or Nothing,” that’s their slogan. In Virginia, a lot of people like DC too. But I’m more down south Virginia, I’m just outside of North Carolina.
A lot of times, a DC person isn’t going to claim Maryland or Virginia. I’m good here in the 757. I love DC and have a lot of friends there but I’m not DMV. I’m 757. I’m music, American music, but I’m always 757.

Right… I don’t know what the homeboy talking about. Bmore isn’t part of no DMV either. That’s PG County and where ever the hell in Virginia. Bmore is closer to Pennsylvania than Virginia anyway… York and Harrisburg are right up 83 and closer to us than DC.
DC don’t claim anything suburban… real rap.
I Really feel like SOHH is pranking us with constant stories and interviews about him. Nobody in the 757 is bumping his mix tapes or songs lol.
ymy is part of southern va culture. richmond is too but they get a pass.. they consider us “bamas” in this area. northern virginia is more dmv. he’s right. 757 is different from a 804/703 state of mind
