According to reports, Suge introduced his new legal muscle in a California courtroom.

Suge Knight made a brief appearance in court for his murder trial — essentially to introduce the new attorney who’s taking over the case … armed with the video TMZ first posted of the whole scene. The attorney, Matthew P. Fletcher checked in with the judge, and Suge’s next court date was set. There was no discussion of the video that shows Suge getting attacked by Cle “Bone” Sloan … and then speeding away — first in reverse and then forward — hitting both Sloan and Terry Carter. (TMZ)

Gruesome video of Suge’s fatal accident emerged online early Monday (March 9) morning.

Terry Carter‘s family asked that TMZ post the video to show what happened. The family’s lawyer, Gary Dordick, tells TMZ, “The Carter family is pleased you are releasing the video so the public can see what actually occurred and not be forced to speculate based on third party descriptions of the video.” We blurred the portion where Terry is run over … it’s just too gruesome. According to reports, the jailed music executive was hospitalized last week.

Knight reportedly spoke on his own behalf Monday in court — after he fired the lawyers handling his case — and said he was receiving inadequate treatment in jail. Moments later he was taken to the hospital. Sources tell us a doctor informed the rap mogul on Friday his eyesight was getting really bad. Suge reportedly shared that info in court before he was hospitalized. (TMZ)

Reports revealed Knight had a bail review hearing pushed back to March 20 last month.

Knight, 49, appeared healthy and sipped from a cup of water a sheriff’s deputy gave him while he sat handcuffed in orange jail garments in a Compton courthouse Monday morning. The former head of Death Row Records has been in custody since being arrested on suspicion of running over two men with his car, killing one of them. (Los Angeles Times)
