[With his new “The Last Ronin” album arriving October 20, hip-hop veteran Fong Sai U counts down the days to its release by weighing in on daily hot topics with SOHH. Today, Fong gives his insight on the hospitalization and coverage of former NBA star Lamar Odom.]

SOHH before I start this one I want everybody to send their prayers toward this man, Lamar Odom, no matter what you believe in.

I have watched CNN put the wrong picture up, the same media that trashed this man at the same time discredits him and makes him look like some junkie.

Being addicted to a drug does not automatically make you a junkie. There are levels. I know because I lost one of my best friends to crack and he’s still alive but he is mentally dead.

When I was around Guru he was a true alcoholic but before he passed he went cold turkey after years of wilding.

You have to want to change within. You can’t blame no one for your actions unless you’re a baby .

I saw what Master P said to Kobe Bryant about how he could switch places with that man and guess what it wouldn’t of meant sh*t if he didn’t want to get clean inside himself.

It starts with the mental, that’s the power. You have a choice. Some people are easy to be led in the wrong direction before the right direction and what pisses me off is that I watch all the news outlets focus on all the negatives. There’s no positives. That man has children that has to hear all these outlets discredit their father and that’s not right.

As I’m writing this, it touches me because I have a lot of dead homies whose story needs to be told so I’m pushing my album back a couple of days so I can give the fans more music and give my brothers that’s gone a voice.

But back to Mr. Odom, he played good basketball and you hear nothing about that and I understand how Master P feels on some points because all these people coming out the woodwork, “Oh he was my best friend blah blah blah,” so why didn’t you help this man when he was down?

H*ll, he had an ex in Khloé Kardashian that if she sh*t it’s on TV. You know what that must feel like to break with some ne and you have to see everyday who they’re messing with or f*cking?

I couldn’t imagine so I know he is not a bum or a junkie or stupid for f*cking with Khloé. He is MR. LAMAR ODOM, who made history with that basketball.

Let me know your thoughts and how you feel.
