Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne's favorite Los Angeles Laker Kobe Bryant may be out for the playoffs but that did not stop Weezy from showing up for the team's home game Friday (April 26) night.

Despite his floor seat presence, Wayne’s appearance could not rally the Lake Show to a win against the No. 2 San Antonio Spurts.

When he’s not in the studio or skating, Lil Wayne can be found on the court. The Young Money chief was courtside at Game 3 of the NBA playoffs between the Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs at Staples Center on Friday. Wearing a Trukfit hat and white hoodie, the long-haired rapper cheered on the L.A. team alongside Young Money president Mack Maine. He also showed love to the Spurs’ Tracy McGrady, who stopped by to say hi. Despite his support, the Lakers lost 120-89. (Rap-Up)

Around mid-April, Weezy revealed his disbelief after learning Kobe would be out for the season.

“Wishing the big homie #24 a speedy rekovery!! Prayers & luv.,” Wayne tweeted April 13th.

“Happy for the win but a n!gga straight heart broken round dis bit@h Dam homie”

“The last of the golden era, where nothing mattered to the player but the game…sad sight.”

Last year, Wayne dished out how Kobe has inspired much more than just music for him.

“He’s inspired not only songs, but he’s inspired me in life in general just the way he attacks things, the way he never backs down, the way he fights through injury,” Lil Wayne said. “Not only do he fight through injury, and not only do he play through injury, he excel through injury. I take those type of things and I just apply them to my everyday life.” (Los Angeles Times)

In last year’s playoffs, the Young Money head ran into a messy conflict when his Lakers took on the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference Finals.

The rapper said two Thunder players – Kevin Durant and James Harden – had reached out to offer him tickets to Saturday’s fourth game of the Western Conference Finals. “That’s not the point, though,” he told The Associated Press in an interview Friday night. “It’s the players stepping up but of course the players aren’t white. I don’t want to be sitting there on behalf of you and I’m sitting next to a (person) that’s like ‘I don’t want this (guy) sitting next to me.’ (Forget) you … I’m in Forbes,” he said, laughing. He said he typically procures tickets for such games “from this guy named Mike.” Lil Wayne said Mike had requested special security, parking and entrance for the rapper, but Mike said the team responded that they would only sell the seats for Mike’s personal use.
