With Father Recovering, Rich Homie Quan Promises To “Live It Up”

Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan is ready to live it up on his 25th birthday following a recently released Rich Gang-affiliated mixtape and his father being hospitalized.

Rich Homie hopped onto Instagram Saturday (October 4) to thank fans for their support and to acknowledge his special day.

“Yeah, man, I’m getting old and sh*t. You dig? I just woke up and sh*t and I’m getting old. Today’s my f*cking born day and I’m gonna live it up. Thanks to everybody, man.” (Rich Homie Quan’s Instagram)

Last month, Rich Homie’s record label issued a statement on his father being shot at a barbershop.

“Unfortunately RHQ’s father Corey Lamar was shot due to an attempted robbery in his barbershop yesterday. We don’t know how the news traveled so fast. Was this gang/beef related? Not that we know of. Quan’s Dad is doing better now and in the healing process. We’re just asking all of his fans to support and honor the privacy of Rich Homie Quan and his family as they push through. According to reports, the near-fatal attack went down on September 29.

Quan’s dad, Corey Lamar, was in the barber shop he owns this morning when a man … or men … came in and attempted to rob the place — and during the hold up they opened fire … according to Quan’s rep. We’re told Lamar — who is Quan’s manager — was hit 4 times. He was rushed to a hospital and taken into surgery. We’re told he is in critical condition, but expected to survive. RHQ is at the hospital … waiting for his father to get out of surgery. (TMZ)
