Television icon Oprah Winfrey may have offered the biggest co-sign music executive Dr. Dre‘s upcoming Straight Outta Compton could have received before it arrives in theaters later this week.

Oprah revealed how much she loved the long-awaited flick on Twitter this past weekend.

Back in February, fellow film producer Ice Cube and Dr. Dre appeared in the movie’s tralier.

In the film’s first full-length spot, we’re first treated to an introduction featuring Ice Cube and hip-hop’s first billionaire Dr. Dre, rolling around Compton as they reminisce on their formative years there and the talent (like The Game and Kendrick Lamar) that has come up in the years since. From there, we’re thrown back into the gritty mid-80s, amidst the drugs and violence that helped bring Ice Cube, Dre, Eazy E, MC Ren, and DJ Yella together. (The Verge)

December 2014 reports claimed Ice Cube revealed footage from the upcoming flick during an overseas concert.

Australian N.W.A. fans were treated to a recent preview of the upcoming biopic, Straight Outta Compton, during a recent Ice Cube concert. The characters of Eazy-E (Jason Mitchell), Dr. Dre (Corey Hawkins) and Ice Cube (O’Shea Jackson Jr., Cube’s actual son) all show up during the trailer which Cube played gleefully. (Miss Info TV)

Recently, Cube promised personal feelings had nothing to do with late rapper Eazy-E’s son not portraying his father.

“He’s an up-and-coming actor trying to do it but we needed somebody who was a little more polished to play Eazy, because he goes through a lot in his life. He goes from selling dope in Compton to fighting for his life in a hospital bed. So we needed to find an actor with a lot of range. And we just couldn’t use just anybody. We gave him a shot, and it just didn’t work out.” (KS 107.5)
