Music veteran Will Smith is going to help light up the Latin Grammy Awards by performing at the annual ceremony next month in Nevada.

Smith announced his headline-generating performance, which will take place November 19 in Las Vegas, Monday (October 19).

“Performing at the Latin Grammy Awards is a huge honor for me,” Smith said in a statement. “I’ll be surrounded by so many talented artists whose music has such profound global impact. I can’t think of a more perfect place for Bomba Estereo and I to perform ‘Fiesta Remix’ for the first time onstage.” (People)

Last week, Smith appeared in Bomba Estéreo’s new “Fiesta” remix music video.

Will Smith stunned the Internet last week when he released his first rap verse in years, on a remix of Bomba Estéreo’s song “Fiesta.” Smith followed up by telling Zane Lowe that he’s back in the studio and has recorded over 30 tracks. Now, Smith is front-and-center for the official music video of the “Fiesta” remix, which seems like final proof that he really is back in the music game. (Entertainment Weekly)

Earlier this month, Smith talked to radio personality Zane Lowe about making his music comeback with the “Fiesta” remix.

“Terrified and it’s crazy because when you’ve had a certain amount of success, it seems like you should breed confidence,” Smith explained when asked about putting together his newly released “Fiesta” remix. “But it actually doesn’t. It’s the craziest thing. It’s like when you win a lot, you lose the ability to lose. You’re not allowed to lose anymore. You actually lose the ability to create because the reckless abandon, and that’s something I’m getting back from watching my kids, they really don’t care. That kind of reckless abandon and that lack of fear and not trying to protect anything, not trying to live up to a legacy, that freedom. Fear is the killer of creativity.” (Beats 1)

Big Will’s new audio gem premiered online in early October.

“When I was told that Will Smith wanted to collaborate on a remix with Bomba, I couldn’t believe it,” founder of the Columbian band Simon Mejia said in a statement. “This opportunity to work with Will was beyond anything we have dreamed of. … It’s just magic.” (Entertainment Weekly)
