Hollywood superstar Will Smith sees Black Panther as much more than a great movie. The veteran filmmaker has come forward to dish on the industry-changing impact of Marvel Studios’ latest release.

Big Willy went to Instagram this week to congratulate the entire cast and applaud director Ryan Coogler for helping shatter false Hollywood beliefs.

I want to share something that Nelson Mandela said to me. . He said, “With the type of fame that you have attained it is important when you encounter your fans that you — Reach Your Hand Out and let them Feel Your Flesh. You have to prove to them that you are REAL — because people can not aspire to anything they do not believe is Real.” . So I say to you, Congratulations! Enjoy this Transcendent Moment. Go into the streets… Touch them… Let them know that you are real! . @chadwickboseman, @michaelbjordan @lupitanyongo @letitiawright @danaigurira @danielkaluuya @im.angelabassett @andyserkis @winstoncduke @sterlingkbrown @rmorrison @therealstanlee @ludwiggoransson @iamruthecarter #blackpanther . Yesterday, comedy heavyweight Chris Rock bigged up the new movie and revealed his interest in a much-needed sequel.

After just 96 hours, Black Panther turned into one of the biggest movie openings – ever.

Overall, Black Panther generated the fifth largest opening weekend of all-time (Friday-to-Sunday) behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($248M), Star Wars: The Last Jedi ($220M), Jurassic World ($208.8M), and The Avengers ($207.4M). That is amazing company. The much anticipated PG-13 super hero film was expected to be huge, but the results actually flew higher once movie fans had the chance to start coming out. The four-day average was a gargantuan $58,458 from 4,020 locations. (Rotten Tomatoes)
