Def Jam alumnus DMX is once again a free man after being released from jail this week.

According to reports, Dark Man X etched out four months from his original six-month bid Friday (September 25).

X was sentenced to serve 6 months in July for child support issues with a baby mama who lives in Buffalo. However, the rapper tells TMZ there was an issue with his original conviction … he was never made aware he owed the baby mama any money. DMX was released Friday and greeted by his attorney Dominic Candino, but he can still find himself behind bars if the court finds X knew about the money problems all along and chose not to pay up. Child support-related issues landed X behind bars this past summer.

The rapper was jailed in Buffalo, NY on Tuesday for failing to comply with a family court ruling. DMX has a history of issues with child support with one of his baby mamas who lives in the area, and it finally caught up with him. He was slapped with a 6 month sentence, and immediately locked up in Erie County Holding Center. (TMZ)

The rap veteran and his attorney appeared in court in June to address a child support matter.

As the 44-year-old rapper and actor was brought before Judge Eileen Rackower in Manhattan Criminal Court he turned and said “Sup,” to a star-struck fellow suspect who recognized and called out to him. A lawyer for the financially strapped rapper argued that he couldn’t pay the “extreme” $25,000 bail set by Rackower. While DMX has some assets, he couldn’t turn them around fast enough, the attorney said. (NY Daily News)

Dark Man X found himself in police custody prior to a New York City concert over the summer.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ, the rapper was en route to Radio City Music Hall where he was scheduled to perform when the New York City Sheriff’s deputies nabbed him for unpaid child support. The law we know, he was being held in the back of a patrol car. As for the concert, Masters of Ceremony, the show went on without him. It had plenty of other old school rappers to entertain the crowd. (TMZ)
