Brooklyn rapper Young M.A‘s headline-generating venture into the porn biz is a game-changer. Adult star Whitney Wright has hit up SOHH to share her reaction to the “Ooouuu” hitmaker writing and directing her first x-rated lesbian film.

In Wright’s opinion, it’s much more meaningful for M.A to be behind the new project as an openly gay woman.

“Initially I had to do a double take when I read the article title. I follow a lot of industry people and a lot of mainstream sites so it grabbed my attention seeing them mentioned in the same sentence. I think it’s a great idea though! I love seeing mainstream and adult team up and collab. I especially love that a female is doing this. Being that she is openly gay, I feel like the film will be more genuine, natural, and organic than if a male artist with no prior experience in adult decided to take a similar approach.” (SOHH)

Whitney also believes this is a great look for the adult biz but cautions it could get watered down if this sparks a trend.

“I think that is an overall good look for the adult industry. I would love to see more mainstream media outlets collaborate with the industry, such as music, film, etc. I think it further normalizes adult performers and actors and is a positive look for us,” Wright added. “This is a tricky one. As much as I would like to see more of this, I definitely think that it could get overwatered or give off the vibe that it’s ‘already been done.’ I think this current collaboration is good publicity for all involved. It raises the brow of both the adult film community ‘and’ the hip hop community, but in a good way. It grabs one’s attention and pulls them in if for no other reason than curiosity.” (SOHH)

Last week, buzz developed about M.A writing and directing her first lesbian film for adult website Pornhub.

Brooklyn rapper Young M.A is making porn now. Kinda. The openly gay artist behind the 2016 hit “OOOUUU” took her killer flow to a Pornhub set to create The Gift, an erotic fantasy starring seven women and zero men. She describes the story in a behind-the-scenes video, hosted by “anal queen” Asa Akira. “It’s about a girl, a virgin,” the rapper, born Katorah Marrero, says. “It’s her birthday and a friend kinda like sends her off to this place where she’s mysteriously walking through different rooms and stuff and finding out, you know, paradise.” The birthday girl walks blindfolded through a luxe mansion with a big pool, a hot tub, and an inflatable swan, and “goes off with whatever she feels is best. I think it’s the perfect gift, to not know something. Like a surprise within a surprise.” (Vice)

Earlier this month, Young M.A released her new “Praktice” music video.
