Louisiana rapper Kevin Gates is a free man again. The Southern hip-hop artist is back home after serving nearly a year behind bars on a felony weapon conviction.
According to reports, Gates left Wednesday (January 10) from an Illinois state prison.
Gates, who served nine months out of a 30-month sentence for a felony weapons charge, was reportedly let go on parole. Last year, after he was initially released from prison, Gates was re-arrested the same day for an outstanding weapons-related warrant. (Billboard)
The hip-hop artist has also hit up Instagram with his first and only current post.

Around Christmas, buzz and speculation stirred about Gates’ release.
Kevin Gates, who dropped By Any Means 2 while still behind bars, has had his projected parole date update on the Illinois Department of Corrections website and it says that the emcee could be out of prison as early as January 10th of 2018, so basically in a couple of weeks. (HNHH)
