Life is good for Drake, but the chart-topping superstar apparently still hasn’t gotten over an old rap rival. Drake confused his Instagram followers recently when he posted a photo of Joe Budden, the hip-hop veteran and popular podcaster who had a heated rivalry with Drake five years ago.
The photo in Drake’s post didn’t have any caption or context, leaving fans to wonder why the Grammy-winning M.C. put a spotlight on Budden. Some speculated the two have squashed their beef and that Drake is going to appear on Budden’s podcast, but many thought the Toronto native was simply trolling his former adversary.
Their feud began in 2016 after Joe criticized Drake’s album Views. Drake spit some subliminal lyrics about Joe, while Joe made diss tracks aimed directly at Drake — including “Making A Murderer, Part 1.”
Drake called Joe a “one-hit wonder,” while Joe claimed Drake was a fraud. The rivalry went viral that same year, when Joe was filmed in a car chase with some Drake fans who approached him at his home.
