Louisiana rapper Webbie has come forward to speak out on the slaying of Baton Rouge man Alton Sterling and revealed how much he personally knew him.

According to the fellow Baton Rouge native, the entire city knew about Sterling prior to his publicized death.

“I been knowing him, sh*t, d*mn near all my life, my whole career. He used to sell CDs, you know what I’m saying? Like, little dude used to be posted up out there right outside that little store. He used to sell CDs so everybody know him, you know what I’m saying? Everybody in the city.” (XXL Mag)

This week, Webb publicly lashed out at celebrities for not protesting and revealed his involvement in a Baton Rouge demonstration.

Coincidentally, Baton Rouge rapper Boosie BadAzz recently talked about the growing problem with his city’s law enforcement.

“It’s messed up, what’s been going on, but I’ve been talking about what’s going on with police in Baton Rouge for a long time. Now people get to see it with their own eyes, all the injustice going on in that city. I ain’t into cops being killed and all of that but cops get away with murder. It’s like they’re in their prime right now so I think it’s like the prime – I don’t think it’s going to get better at all. Really there will never be peace – you’ve got too many lives that have been taken.” (TMZ)
