While brief with his words, Wale confirmed they were back on speaking terms.

“We’re close friends, and the closer friends you are with somebody the worse the fights [can] be,” Wale said in an interview with Free. “We squashed it. Everything good. He good, he good. He’s taking care of his kid, working hard, working on his new album. He’s working with a lot of the same people, he got a lot of new faces. His circle is significantly smaller, but sometimes that’s what you need to do, reevaluate your circle.” (WPGC 95.5)

In late February, Cudi publicly reached out to Wale.

“@wale yooo,” he tweeted. “its never too late to make things right” (Kid Cudi’s Twitter)

Wale responded back and confirmed the beef was officially dead.

“@wizardcud yo,” Wale replied back. “@wizardcud we back cuz … GOOD x MMG …of course” (Wale’s Twitter)

Cudi sparked tensions toward Wale by calling him out in an interview last year.

“I really don’t understand what’s up with this guy, but he’s just somebody I don’t click with anymore. I started making changes in my life and started to realize positive energy around me, and he never really had a good energy. I never felt like he wanted to see me prosper, it was just one of those n*ggas that was envious rather than happy for a n*gga. I could be reading it wrong, but I’m not making beef and rearranging my life. It’s pretty obvious he feels some type of way about it. I’m not into peer mediation and working things out, I’m just trying to provide for my daughter and my family and making music for my fans. I vibe with certain people and some people I don’t.” (Complex)
