Atlanta’s Waka Flocka Flame recently discussed his upcoming Salute Me Or Shoot Me 4 mixtape and how big of an impact the fans had in piecing it together.

According to Flocka, the new mixtape is largely inspired and dedicated to his loyal supporters.

“I’m doing this mixtape solely … for the fans, man, that’s who I’m doing it for. That real,” Waka told Mixtape Daily. Salute Me or Shoot Me, Vol. 4 is a return to the trap-style mixtapes on which Waka built his rambunctious brand. On last year’s Salute Me or Shoot Me, Vol. 3, Flocka teamed with DJ Holiday and recruited Gucci Mane, Wooh Da Kid and his late friend Slim Dunkin, as well as producers Lex Luger, Southside and Drumma Boy. Over the course of 24 tracks like “Ferrari Boyz,” “Tag Team” and “365,” Waka delivered a consistent head-busting sound. He promises more of the same on the series’ latest installment. “The streets deserve this, my fans deserve this,” he said. “That reckless music, I’m the king of that.” (MTV)

Last week, rap veteran Busta Rhymes talked to SOHH about dropping his latest album, Year of the Dragon, as a thank you to his fans.

“The fourth reason is because this is the first album to ever come out for free from Busta Rhymes. This is my thank-you album. This is my album for the people that have been going with me for the last twenty years of my career. This is my gift to y’all. I really appreciate the love and support from throughout the years. This is to you.” (SOHH 5 Reasons)

Currently sitting at 1.2 million, Flocka promised to drop a new mixtape once he hit one million Twitter followers last month.

If you ain’t click my follow button #YouAintBoutThatLife,” he tweeted July 12th.
