Atlanta rapper Waka Flocka Flame is feeling a certain type of way toward JAY-Z. The hip-hop veteran has called out Young Hov for using his “Talk Up” collaboration to speak down on the youth.
Waka went to Twitter Friday (June 29) with a since-deleted tweet going at Jigga.
On the new song, JAY references the fatal slaying of rapper XXXTentacion and questions the streets for not taking out Trayvon Martin killer George Zimmerman.
On Scorpion, the rap icon makes an appearance on ‘Talk Up’, and opens up on the shooting that killed XXXTentacion just last week. The moment comes as Jay reflects upon the death of Trayvon Martin, the Florida teenager killed by George Zimmerman in 2012. “Y’all killed X and let Zimmerman live, streets is done”, Jay raps on the track. This week, hip-hop veteran DJ Paul talked about learning JAY landed on his produced single after he completed his work on it.
“[JAY[ was added on later. … I haven’t even heard it, actually. I’ve heard pieces of it. I’m even excited about what’s about to go down. Drake is secret with it because he can’t release nothing like that. I’ve heard pieces, I haven’t even heard the final final [version]. … Two of the biggest artists in the world on one of my tracks, man. I couldn’t believe it. It was amazing and Drake hooked it up. I saw a post that 21 Savage did where he was talking about how Drake is the only big rapper that always shows love to other rappers. That’s the truth. He really does show love.” (VIBE)
A few days ago, Hollywood actress Skai Jackson and Lil Uzi Vert pulled through for X’s funeral.
