Despite being criticized in the past for lack of lyricism, Waka said there was no doubt he would seek an opportunity to link with the lyrical emcee.

Waka Flocka Flame marked a career milestone today with the release of his debut album Flockaveli. But the Brick Squad emcee also has his sights set on achieving a surprise pairing with Queensbridge legend Nas. Several months ago, Waka Flocka cited Nas to AllHipHop.com as his choice for the best rapper of all time. With his name continuing to gain momentum via his well-received singles, Flocka is open to working with more artists outside his camp, as he did on his latest hit “No Hands.” When given a list of emcees, Flocka became visibly excited at the idea of working with Nas. “Excuse my language but h*ll yeah!” he exclaimed. Recently, Waka Flocka spoke with SOHH about improving his lyricism.

“The biggest reason y’all should go out and buy my [Flockaveli] album? I stepped my bars up a little bit. For the people that are like, ‘He ain’t talking about nothing,’ I had to make sure I stepped it up a little bit. I bet some of y’all are gonna say, “D*mn, I know he stepped it up a little bit.” Guaranteed.” (5 Reasons Why…)

As of late, Nas has been rumored to be featured on an upcoming Kanye West-produced and Lloyd Banks-featured record.

Lloyd Banks came up to the XXL offices this afternoon as the latest guest on our weekly Wednesday UStream show, Spotlight, and during the engaging interview he spoke on the possibility of he and 50 Cent rival Nas appearing together on one of Kanye West’s upcoming G.O.O.D. Friday tracks. Banks said that he was in the studio with our October cover star two nights ago, along with John Legend and Kid Cudi and worked on two cuts–one for The Hunger for More 2 and one for ‘Ye’s upcoming, still unnamed LP. “The record I had did for Kanye, he was saying he was putting Nas on it, so you may be seeing that in the future,” The Punchline King told XXLMag.com. According to rap pioneer Pete Rock, Nas has requested his services on the upcoming Lost Tapes 2 album.

“LOOK OUT FOR NEW NAS AND PETE ROCK COMING ON LOST TAPES 2!!,” he tweeted this week. “‘FINALLY’ AFTER 18 SUM ODD YEARS ITS NAS AND PETE ROCK AGAIN!! LETS GO!!” (Pete Rock’s Twitter)
