After a night in jail, Flocka will attend a hearing early Wednesday (January 5).

Top-selling rapper Waka Flocka Flame will spend Tuesday night in a Georgia county jail after turning himself in on drugs and weapons charges. A bond hearing for the performer, whose real name is Jaquin Malphurs, has been scheduled for 8:30 a.m. local time on Wednesday, according to the Henry County Sheriff’s office. The charges followed a raid on the rapper’s home last month in a suburb south of Atlanta. The artist’s current album, Flockaveli, is ranked 11th on the Billboard Magazine chart of rap albums. Details on Flocka’s arrest landed online Monday night.

Atlanta-based rapper Waka Flocka (aka Waka Flocka Flame; real name Juaquin Malphurs) started the new year by owning up to last year’s mistakes — the 24-year-old turned himself over to police on Monday, in response to a warrant issued for his arrest on Dec. 16, 2010. At that time, police arrested two associates at Flocka’s home for possession of marijuana and they searched the premises but Flocka himself was not present. The rapper’s friend and mentor, Gucci Mane, was placed in handcuffs during the raid before being released shortly thereafter. (AOL News)

A rundown of exact charges and confirmation from his mother/manager, Debra Antney, have also arisen.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Department tells TMZ … Waka was booked for multiple charges including: — Possession of marijuana less than 1 ounce — Possession of firearm by convicted felon — Possession of hydrocodone — Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony — Violation of probation for driving on a suspended license — Violating Georgia’s “Criminal Street Gang and Terror Prevention Act” The rapper’s mother tells TMZ, Waka surrendered on his own this afternoon “because he wanted to do the right thing and didn’t want to run.” As we first reported, cops hit Waka’s home on December 16 — and after confiscating all sorts of illegal items, issued an arrest warrant for Waka … who wasn’t home at the time. Waka’s being held on $31,950 bond — and a hearing is set for tomorrow. (TMZ)

Waka was served an arrest warrant around mid-December for his Georgia residence.

According to a search warrant obtained by TMZ, police raided Waka Flocka’s house seeking “marijuana, articles, pictures, andcommunications relating to gangs and gang paraphernalia.” Waka wasn’t home at the time, but police told TMZ that marijuana, prescription drugs and two firearms were found. Two men were arrested in the raid and charged with possession of less than an ounce of weed; Gucci Mane, who was also in the house at the time, was briefly detained. (Rolling Stone)
