Southern rapper Waka Flocka Flame reportedly dodged gunfire Wednesday (February 16) in North Carolina after violence erupted near his tour bus.

Details on what reportedly went down hit the Internet Wednesday evening.

The rapper’s tour bus was surrounded by crime tape Wednesday evening outside Car Stereo Warehouse on Independence Boulevard near Bojangles Coliseum. Police said Juaquin Malphurs, better known as Waka Flocka Flame, was at the store to have a stereo system installed in his tour bus. A dispute broke out, police said, and one person – not the rapper – was shot in the shoulder. (Charlotte Observer)

Following the incident, Waka and his entourage were detained by local authorities.

Five days after headlining a hip-hop show at the Tabernacle, Atlanta rapper Waka Flocka Flame may be in trouble again. This time, the incident involves a shootout in North Carolina. The rapper, his brother and another person — someone not involved in Waka Flocka’s entourage — all have been detained after a shooting outside the Car Stereo Warehouse in east Charlotte. The rapper’s publicist, Kali Bowyer, confirmed what went down.

“Security followed approriate protocol and returned fire,” says Bowyer, who revealed that the rapper travels with more than a dozen security guards. The gunman was shot by the guards. “Waka is fine and so is his team, they had nothing to do with the situation. This was an isolated incident and the tour bus just happened to be caught in the middle of it.” (RumorFix)

Waka also updated fans on his health via Twitter.

“To my fans N world im good nothing is wrong with my health see yall in Cali for all-star #im1realassperson,” Waka tweeted February 16th.
