Houston rapper Travis Scott is extremely limiting his chances of a nasty Nicki Minaj run-in tonight. The hip-hop star has reportedly switched up his MTV Video Music Awards seat after initially getting placed behind Onika.
According to reports, Scott no longer has to worry about sitting inches away from Minaj.
Travis is on the move after originally being seated behind Nicki Minaj … a decision that raised eyebrows in the wake of Nicki going nuclear over Travis beating her out for the top spot on the Billboard chart. Sources tell TMZ … Travis will now sit on the opposite side of the room from Nicki. We’re told it’s more about avoiding bad optics — Travis has the top album and shouldn’t sit BEHIND the artist with the no. 2 spot — and not about fear of retaliation or continued beef from Nicki. Earlier in the day, buzz developed about Travis sitting directly behind Minaj at tonight’s show.
Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott will have a direct shot at Nicki Minaj during the VMAs … this after Nicki blasted them for cheating her out of the top spot on the Billboard chart. The seating chart for Monday night’s VMAs plays like some high school drama. Last night, Scott’s protégé Smokepurpp publicly went at Nicki for singling Cactus Jack for his Astroworld album’s promotional tactics.

Yesterday, Nicki unloaded a flood of tweets getting at Scott for having reality TV star girlfriend Kylie Jenner‘s support in promoting his chart-topping LP.
Travis sold over 50K of these. With no requirement of redeeming the album! With no dates for a tour, etc. I spoke to him. He knows he doesn’t have the #1 album this week.
