With explosive footage of R&B singer Solange Knowles and Jay Z fighting surfacing today (May 12), the Standard Hotel has released a statement over the incident happening at its New York location. #ElevatorMusic

In its statement, the hotel acknowledged the fight went down at its premise.

A publicist for the Standard Hotel has provided the following statement exclusively to theGrio: “We are shocked and disappointed that there was a clear breach of our security system and the confidentiality that we count on providing our guests. We are investigating with the utmost urgency the circumstances surrounding the situation and, as is our customary practice, will discipline and prosecute the individuals involved to our fullest capacity.” (theGrio)

Initial reports revealed the attack took place last week in the Big Apple.

According to our sources, it all went down at a Met Gala after party last week at the Standard Hotel in NYC. In the video … Jay Z, Beyonce and Solange step into the elevator … and then Solange goes crazy, screaming at Jay before unleashing a violent attack. A large man — who appears to be a bodyguard — attempts to hold Solange back, but she manages to connect at least 3 times. At one point Solange throws a kick and Jay grabs her foot, but never attempts to strike her. Beyonce stands by without getting physically involved. (TMZ)

A bodyguard ultimately helped bring tensions down before they exited.

It’s unclear what triggered the fight. And this is interesting. When you look closely, you see the bodyguard hit the emergency stop switch on the 12th floor — mid fight — presumably to keep the fight private. All three walked out of the building together — Solange looks pissed — but while Bey and Solange get in one car … security walks Jay to a different one. (TMZ)

Coincidentally, Jay and Bey were spotted days later at a Brooklyn Nets playoff game.

If these photos are any indication, Beyonce and Jay Z are still O.K. after his blowout battle with Solange Knowles … or at least pretending to be. The two were seen courtside at Saturday night’s game between the Miami Heat and the Brooklyn Nets in NYC, where they shared some PDA in the front row. At one point, Bey was seen smiling as her husband rubbed her leg. They were later seen chatting it up with Jake Gyllenhaal, who sat next to them. (Too Fab)
