Hours after George Zimmerman posted up the gun used to kill teenager Trayvon Martin onto a bidding website, the auction service has removed it.
According to reports, the lethal weapon is no longer shown on gunbroker.com
In place of Zimmerman’s listing for his Kel-Tec PF-9 9mm firearm, the page said, without elaboration, “Sorry, but the item you have requested is no longer in the system.” Until that point, the gunbroker.com page had been viewed more than 185,000 times. (USA Today)
Buzz behind Zimmerman putting up the murder weapon went viral early Thursday (May 12).
In a listing on the website gunbroker.com, Zimmerman writes that he is “honored and humbled” to announce the sale of the Kel-Tec PF-9 9mm firearm. Similar firearms normally sell on the site for around $200. “The firearm for sale is the firearm that was used to defend my life and end the brutal attack from Trayvon Martin on 2/26/2012,” he writes. Back in September 2015, hip-hop artist Azealia Banks shared her thoughts on Zimmerman.
Last year, Zimmerman retweeted a lifeless picture of Trayvon Martin on Twitter.
Though the tweet has now been deleted by Twitter officials, Zimmerman reportedly retweeted the following proclamation that he is a “one man army,” an incendiary statement maddeningly paired with a gruesome photo of Trayvon Martin’s corpse. New York Daily News got the screengrab. (Complex)
