New York rapper French Montana is ready to keep things moving following a court appearance yesterday (June 26) over a driving violation from earlier this year. #BiteTheBullet
According to reports, Montana did not put up a fight and came clean with a guilty plea.
French — real name Karim Kharbouch — was fined $588 … which is due by Aug. 26. His lawyer called the whole thing a mix-up with the DMV and said French just wants to pay the fine and get on with his life. Khloe Kardashian didn’t accompany her rapper boyfriend to court today. But French did voice his support for her brother, Rob Kardashian, who’s struggling with a weed and sizzurp addiction. (TMZ)
Details of Montana’s criminal case surfaced online Thursday afternoon.
Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner will have another reason to disapprove of her daughter Khloé’s bad boy rapper boyfriend French Montana — he’s due in Manhattan Criminal Court Thursday to fight charges that he was cruising city streets in his white Rolls-Royce Ghost without a license. Born Karim Kharbouch, the lyricist was nabbed by cops on Feb. 1 around 1:40 a.m. outside B.B. King’s on 42nd Street, where he was headed for a party with Funkmaster Flex. Kharbouch was charged with a misdemeanor of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. (Page Six)
Montana’s attorney Javier Solano made sure to downplay the case’s seriousness.
“This is a really stand-up guy,” Solano said. He explained that the rapper never received a notice that his license was suspended because of a mix-up with DMV records, and he immediately went to the DMV to fix it after his arrest, Solano said. (Page Six)
