According to his manager, Nakia Walker, X merely missed a scheduled meeting with his probation officer, which led to his arrest.

DMX was locked up once again in Arizona’s Marciopa County yesterday (November 18) for violating his probation. It seems he will remain in lock-up until his November 24 hearing according to X’s manager Nakia Walker. Walker told XXL that the Yonkers MC was arrested for failing to meet with his probation officer and could face up to eight months in jail if convicted. “Earl sometimes has a hard time following the rules, that’s all,” Walker said. “He didn’t check in with his probation officer and pretty much [they] extended their hand and they violated him.” (XXL Mag)

Reports of X’s arrest began to circulate online Friday (November 19).

Despite Walker’s explanation, additional reporting claimed the rapper possessed cocaine when confronted by police.

DMX – whose real name is Earl Simmons – was taken into custody Thursday night in Maricopa County in Arizona for a probation violation. Sources tell RadarOnline.com that he had cocaine on him. In addition, according to the complaint, he was also cited for use of Oxycontin without a prescription, failing to submit to drug testing, failing to participate in counseling programs, failure to make payments, and driving on a suspended license. The complaint reads: “Mr. Simmons has several felony convictions, and has been given multiple opportunities to succeed on probation. He has been directed to treatment, as well as chose his own treatment program and continues to use illegal drugs following their opportunities.” (Radar Online)

X will head to court next week and could face time behind bars.

The rapper has been ordered to attend a probation revocation hearing on November 24 which could see him jailed for a third time in 2010 if he is deemed to have broken court rules. Simmons served time in jail in Arizona earlier this year for a previous parole violation charge – he was released in July after four months behind bars. (Toronto Sun)
