New York rap veteran Busta Rhymes has come forward to speak out on his publicized New York City gym arrest last night (August 5).
Busta avoided releasing a press release and spoke via his Instagram page early Thursday (August 6).
The New York native’s arrest details emerged online late Wednesday (August 5) night.
The 43-year-old rapper and actor, whose given name is Trevor Tahiem Smith Jr., was arrested around 8:30 p.m. at the Steel Gym at 143 W. 23rd St., sources said.
Sources said Busta Rhymes got into a fight with a fellow gym goer, and allegedly threw a container of Lean Body Protein drinks at the victim. The victim refused medical attention at the scene, sources said. (CBS Local)
Last January, Busta penned an open letter to the music industry over protégé O.T. Genasis’ “CoCo” hit.
Busta also released the letter on his Instagram.
