With Brooklyn Nets minority owner Jay-Z making a rare Twitter post to boast about the team's televised win over rival New York Knicks this week, SOHH hit up the rap mogul's protégé Uncle Murda for his reaction.

In Uncle Murda’s perspective, Jay could not help but celebrate seeing his squad pull off an impressive overtime win.

“He said ‘The city’s under new management.’ [laughs] It’s just exciting, man,” Murda told SOHH. “It felt good, it was just real exciting for the city, man. It was definitely a good look for Brooklyn. They were acting a fool in Brooklyn, man. They were going crazy. You know Jay-Z was feeling exciting because like you said, he only tweets once or twice a year. So that’s how excited you know he was. It’s just a good look for Brooklyn, overall. The Nets actually came out to me and Fab[olous]’ record, that ‘Brooklyn’ record. That’s a good feeling, man.” (SOHH)

Murda also gave his thoughts on New York welcoming in a new local NBA rival for the Knicks.

“I think it’s a good thing for New York,” Murda added, referring to the new rivalry. “It’s a great thing for Brooklyn. Brooklyn is like a state of its own, anyway. I represent New York but I’m from Brooklyn. So Brooklyn comes first. But no matter where you go, you can always find someone from Brooklyn. I don’t care if you’re in L.A., you could probably be in Russia, and say, ‘Is Brooklyn in here?’ Brooklyn’s here. I think it’s a great thing to have a real good New York rivalry.” (SOHH)

Young Hov made big headlines after his publicized tweet got posted up following Monday’s win.

Jay-Z’s 99 problems apparently don’t include the Knicks. At least not anymore. “The city is under new management,” the rap mogul tweeted after Monday’s 96-89 overtime victory over the Knicks. The Nets are now 3-0 with the minority owner in attendance. He watched courtside next to his superstar wife, Beyonce. Richard Gere and Michael Strahan were also at the Barclays Center. Jay and his wife Beyoncé Knowles-Carter sat courtside for the game.

Beyonce and her hubby Jay-Z attend the Brooklyn Nets home opener at the Barclays Center on Saturday (November 3) in Brooklyn, N.Y. The 31-year-old singer and the 42-year-old rapper watched from the front row as the Nets beat the Toronto Raptors 107-100. Jay is a part owner of the team, which used to be known as the New Jersey Nets before its big move to Brooklyn this year. (Just Jared)
