UGK's Bun B fans can get their "Get Well" cards ready as the Southern rap veteran is making headlines this week for experiencing a New York City taxi cab accident.
Despite the accident’s perceived seriousness, Bun’s publicist claims he did not suffer any major injuries.
Bun B and his manager, Anzel Jennings (also known as Red) got into a minor car accident this morning (Jan. 5) on the corner of Broadway and 9th Street, in lower Manhattan. Fortunately, Bun B, born Bernard Freeman, and Jennings, who suffered a minor abrasion to his forehead, are “okay” says his publicist. (Billboard)
An ambulance and local police also arrived to the scene shortly afterward.
Both were in a cab on their way to Billboard’s NYC offices for an interview when the accident occured. It’s not clear as to whether their taxi driver struck another car or if they were hit. An ambulance and the NYPD came quickly after his publicist made a call. Bun B was headed up the elevator to talk to us when he went back down stairs to talk to the police, says his rep. Bun, though on his feet and doing well, and Jennings headed to NYC’s Beth Israel Medical Center to get checked. (Billboard)
Bun also got on Twitter and provided worried fans with a small update.
“I am fine. I’m not hospitalized. Wow..the Internet..,” he tweeted Thursday (January 5). (Bun B’s Twitter)
Outside of crash talk, rapper Big Pooh recently crowned Bun B SOHH Underrated.
“Let me think about this for a second. That’s a good question. Bun B. Even though he’s loved by everybody, I still don’t think he gets the props he deserves. I think people love him because he’s cool and obviously he’s nice on the mic, but he’s underrated. Bun B is definitely underrated.” (SOHH Underrated)
