Being undefeated doesn’t really bother me. I don’t actually think about it. Sometimes I actually forget that I am undefeated.
I think that’s what helps me, not putting pressure on myself. I learned something from a high-level wrestler, in one of his interviews he said, “There’s no such thing as pressure, that’s something you place upon yourself.”
I like to think of competition like that now. If I can just have fun and not think about it, that’s the best way to do it.
Otherwise, you’re going to be sitting there just thinking about your fight, “What’s he going to do? What are you going to do if he does this?”
It’s good to play those scenarios in your head but sometimes your mind needs a rest and a break. If I’m sitting there worried about my record on top of that, I’m going to worry about hurting myself and not do what I need to do.
I just like to go to the gym and fight my fight. I want to get a finish and I think this upcoming one will be no different.
