UFC president Dana White has assured hungry fans of a highly-anticipated rematch between champion fighter Holly Holm and Ronda Rousey going down in the future.
White announced the headline-generating news during an interview this week.
UFC president Dana White told the “Mike & Mike” radio show that because of the fight’s marketability and Rousey’s past accomplishments, Holm’s first title defense will be against the former champ. “Ronda Rousey has gone undefeated, taken the sport to another level and was beating the best women in the world in 14 seconds or 30 seconds, so she deserves a rematch,” White said. “Holly agrees she deserves a rematch, and we’ll figure it out.” (Fox Sports)

Retired boxing champion Laila Ali shared her thoughts on the publicized UFC shocker in mid-November.
“She didn’t shock me,” Ali said referring to Holly Holm defeating Rousey. “I’m familiar with Holly Holm. She’s a talented boxer, she’s a world champion – I’m excited for her and hopefully she’ll get the exposure she needs to take her career to the next level – it’s obvious who the better fighter was. … We have to under that in order to be the best in the world, you definitely don’t ever get beat up like that in your prime, period.” (TMZ Sports)
