UFC president Dana White isn’t quite ready to move on from hype surrounding a Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather Jr. rematch. The MMA executive has weighed-in on where things stand in a much-needed round 2.

According to White, there is still talk going on between McGregor/Mayweather but believes a fight could only go down in the octagon.

“The only way a rematch makes sense in that fight is in the UFC,” White says. He also confirms the two sides are talking. White says he doesn’t think Floyd needs the money — but if he’s serious about an MMA fight against one of the baddest combat sports athletes on the planet … “he absolutely should be worried about his skills.” White insists there is NO deal done right now — but says, “Anything is possible.” (TMZ)

Recently, Conor went to his Instagram page and appeared to suggest Floyd would never fight in the UFC.

Earlier this month, Mayweather tossed up a fake pic of himself banging up McGregor MMA-style.

The 40-year-old retired boxing legend has been teasing fight fans in recent weeks with non too subtle suggestions that he is considering a foray into the Octagon, but his recent social media post may have graphically illustrated his intentions. The post leaves little to the imagination as it shows an image headlined “Certified Killa vs Certified B***h”, which depicts Mayweather inflicting horrific damage on his arch rival Conor McGregor in a fight that is clearly being conducted under MMA rules. A few nights prior, McGregor clowned Mayweather with a shot from their summer 2017 boxing fight.
