[After a huge The Ultimate Fighter Finale win last week against Chad Mendes, fighter Chad Mendes talks to SOHH about the hit reality television show and how he sees the UFC evolving in 2016.]
I think “The Ultimate Fighter” is a great platform for fighters to make a name for themselves and to get themselves known.
It’s what really helped elevate our sports originally and once it caught fire, it’s really what has helped us get into the mainstream. It going onto people’s TVs is what really helped.
For myself, I’m obviously looking at the guys but I think for the masses it’s an entertainment show and a reality show. It’s just the nature of people who watch TV and are into that.
They’re into the drama and excitement.
You just have to lay it all on the line in the UFC and you have to make fun of it, try to have fun, and fight your heart out. You have to give it all you can and you’re going to get fans and earn respect.
The UFC is growing like crazy and who knows how much more it can grow. I think this is going to be the most popular sport in the world if it’s not already and every culture and every country understands the sport.
I think sky is the limit.
