R&B singer/actor Tyrese is the latest celebrity to step forward to speak out on next month’s Academy Awards show host Chris Rock possibly skipping out on the event.
Tyrese spoke out through his Instagram page Tuesday (January 19) and asked him to represent for people of color.
G-Unit boss 50 Cent made his public plea for Rock to fall back early Tuesday (January 19) morning.
West Coast rap veteran Snoop Dogg has shared his disgust in the Oscars on social media this week.
Academy president Cheryl Boone Isaacs issued a statement revealing her frustration Monday (January 18) and promised a change would come.
“I’d like to acknowledge the wonderful work of this year’s nominees. While we celebrate their extraordinary achievements, I am both heartbroken and frustrated about the lack of inclusion,” she said in statement issued Monday evening. “This is a difficult but important conversation, and it’s time for big changes. The Academy is taking dramatic steps to alter the makeup of our membership. In the coming days and weeks we will conduct a review of our membership recruitment in order to bring about much-needed diversity in our 2016 class and beyond.” (NY Daily News)

While I do agree that The Oscars being SO white is pathetic… I do feel that all these people asking Chris Rock to not do the Job he was WELL PAID for should gather their finances like this joke Tyrese here and give it to him, that would be fair.
Also, if not Chris, Don Lemmon gonna do it or someone else who’s black and it will be a deeper blow if you think about it in depth.

Him not taking the job steps over an direct want to have a black host..where was the support for chris in his movies…he put out some great films ..that didnt get nominated…so its either way your screwed…u do it get paid u get haters…u dont u. Blow a chance to get a big check and build a bridge..

Unless you’ve seen Beasts of a Nation or Concussion, please don’t speak on snubs. And Straight Outta Compton was good – but NONE of that shit should’ve been nominated for an Academy Award.

Hopefully he uses his space as a host to satire the award show. Mention how this is first party he’s hosted that black people weren’t invited to or something like that. He will get paid and point out the issue.
