[Art, Beats and Lyrics, one of the largest traveling lifestyle experiences in the country, has concluded its 2016 tour in Birmingham. The multi-city tour kicked off in Charlotte last fall, before stopping through Miami, Charlotte, Houston, St. Louis and New Orleans. Check out some pics of rap veteran Twista and the showcase’s finale event below!]

What’s so cool about Art, Beats and Lyrics is that it merges the affinity for urban contemporary art with hip-hop, making it an experience you wouldn’t want to miss. In addition to showcasing visual works of art from nationally recognized artists like Miya Bailey, Dubelyoo and Kazilla, the tour features live performances from upcoming and seasoned veterans in art and music under one roof. Some of the art pieces in the exhibits are inspired by celebrities and pop culture, others span across multiple avenues such as graffiti and skateboard culture.

The 2016 tour included performances from 8Ball & MJG, Scarface, Mystikal and Twista, who performed Houston, St. Louis and Birmingham this year. Other acts included Rich Medina, DJ Wally Sparks and Chicago-based band, Sidewalk Chalk.  Twista was actually the headliner for the Houston, St. Louis and Birmingham tour stops, delivering a variety of  hits that spanned over the last 20 years. If you didn’t know Twista was a legend before Art, Beats and Lyrics, it was pretty clear before the night ended. Song after song, he kept the crowd singing along and waiting to hear which of their favorite songs would come up next.
