Brooklyn rapper Troy Ave is expected to come back home today (December 26) following a near-fatal shooting. New reports claim the rapper is still in pain but well enough to get released from a local hospital.

Details have surfaced of Ave’s latest condition following a publicized Christmas Day hospitalization.

A CT scan Monday showed one bullet still in his head, his lawyer John Stella said. “They are discharging him today,” he said. “He is very sore. The doctors told the family that he came dangerously close to having a spinal cord injury, but it looks like there’s no lasting damage from the wound track.” (New York Daily News)

Last night, G-Unit’s 50 Cent went to his Instagram page and showed off a pic of himself alongside Ave.

Hours prior, details surfaced about Troy’s near-death shooting.

Rapper Troy Ave was shot twice Sunday while sitting in his red Maserati in Brooklyn, sources said. The shooting unfolded in Canarsie at East 91st Street and Linden Blvd at around 4:20 p.m, according to police. The hometown hip-hop star was grazed in the head and struck once in the arm as he sat alone in the six-figure sports car, cops said. His shooter walked up and opened fire without warning — blasting out the driver-side window, cops said. (New York Post)

Troy’s legal team almost immediately issued a statement to alert fans on his condition.

“Tonight, Troy Ave was targeted again… on Christmas,” Scott Leemon, an attorney for the rapper, said in a statement obtained by Billboard. “In Brooklyn, going to meet his family for the holiday, he was shot two times. Thankfully, he will survive the second attempt on his life. As we have said from the beginning — he is a victim. We pray for his speedy recovery.” (Billboard)
