Meg Thee Stallion Exposes More Shooting Details

In a must-read New York Times op-ed piece, Lanez’s estranged friend Megan Thee Stallion didn’t hold back on sharing a firm stance for protecting Black women as violence and inequality comes their way. She also made it no secret to suffering herself from violence struck her way allegedly at the hands of Tory.

“I was recently the victim of an act of violence by a man – after a party, I was shot twice as I walked away from him. We were not in a relationship. Truthfully, I was shocked that I ended up in that place … Too many men treat all women as objects, which helps them to justify inflicting abuse against us when we choose to exercise our own free will. … There’s not much room for passionate advocacy if you are a Black woman.” (New York Times)

Meg also went to her Instagram page to plug the feature and spoke on the importance of defending Black women.

“This piece really means a lot to me and I hope it touches everyone 🙏🏾 I will never bite my tongue, I will never allow anyone to silence me, I will never be scared to stand up for myself and others, and I DAMN SURE WILL NEVER BE SCARED TO BE MY TRUE AUTHENTIC STRONG BLACK SELF 💙 thank you @nytopinion for the platform and thank you to all the beautiful women involved ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾” -Megan Thee Stallion’s Instagram

Tory Lanez, a.k.a. Daystar Peterson, faces one count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and one count of possessing a loaded, concealed weapon in a vehicle, according to the Los Angeles County D.A.’s office. He could serve up to 22 years in prison if convicted for the July 12 incident in which he allegedly shot Megan in the foot. His dad recently came forward to share his support in the case.

“My son @torylanez I say to you this day. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will show to you today; for the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you shall see them again no more. You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you Daystar. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out and face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you.'” -Sonstar Peterson’s Instagram
